THE 4GB SHUFFLE

Finalist artwork created for Nationwide Mercury Prize Art Competition, the brief being simply to respond to music.

To create the huge artwork, an iPod was played on shuffle to inspire non-stop artistic responses until finally the last song played. The canvas has layer upon layer of stationary, glue, spray paint, biro’s, acrylic paint, and 6 painted vinyl’s decorating it.

Was that the longest day of my life? I sometimes feel like I’m still living it.
