THE CASTLEFIELD GALLERY

Left: An illustrated document profiling a soon to launch exhibition.

Having spotted my illustrations in an exhibition of drawings of the different haircuts I’ve given over the years (As an impoverished student one has to make money some how, my scissors proved a good source of income for a while. I digress..), Dan Robinson approached me about creating the promotional material for an exhibition he would be launching later that year at The Castlefield Gallery.

The exhibition was a documentation of the project by Robinson and Bryan Davis to create a new identity for Low Parkamoor, a remote and previously disused farm in the Lake District. Proposed uses for the land included "Fashion shoot location facility", "Mountain bike stop-off café", "Exclusive Boutique lifestyle hotel", "Scout and guide hut", "Investors timeshare"… the list was endless.

The illustrated posters and mail-out documents were designed to be full of bizarre encounters between these disparate cultural groups, using a fold out format for printed media new encounters could be discovered each time the document is re-folded and then opened again.
